Checks and Balances

When I think back on the presidents (all nine of them) and congressional sessions in my lifetime, the best least worst were when opposing parties controlled the executive and legislative branches.

Maybe it’s time for a constitutional amendment forcing the control of the legislature to go to the party opposing the party controlling the presidency.   If we ever have a viable third party the Senate and House could be split between the two losing parties.

That government is best which governs least.    Gridlock is a public good.
