Looking back on my 2008

My resolution for 2008 was to get off my butt and get serious about competitive shooting. I joined the local IDPA club and started shooting regular matches. I also learned there’s a huge difference between standing at a lane and shooting a target, and shooting accurately under time and movement pressure. It’s a lot of fun though and you couldn’t ask for a better group of people to shoot with.

I also got more serious about blogging. I went from virtually no readers at the beginning of the year to thousands, and it’s been a rewarding experience that I will continue next year. I’m going to Boomershoot and The NRA convention which should make for interesting blog fodder. Of course there’s always politics too. (More on that in the new year.)

I’ve also met some great people and made some awesome new friends.  It’s one of the wonders of the Internet that people with similar interest can get together from all over the world.

To all the readers, commenters, blog friends and chat buddies, thanks for making 2008 a great year.
