Shooty Weirdness

I’m left handed.  I shoot pistol left handed. (Rifle,  I shoot right handed, but that’s not germane here.)  I just don’t shoot pistol right handed much.  But today after 200 rounds through the XD, I decided to try weak hand for a while.

I discovered something weird.  I shot better right handed than left.

Here’s ten rounds left handed at seven yards.

But right handed:

t2

That’s ten rounds at seven yards too. But with my “weak” hand.

Granted the left handed string was after 200 rounds but still, I never get that tight of a group left handed.  Never.

Shooting right handed feels very strange, but if I can do that good consistently, I may switch.

This needs more investigation.  (Yay,  more range time!)

Well done! Hell, I’d be happy with that STRONG hand!!! And yes, more range time to investigate is definitely required 🙂

  2. Well done, you! Looks like either way, you get the job done.

Which eye is dominant? I’m the “anti Alan” as I shoot pistol right, rifle lefty.

  4. alan says:

    Left eye dominant.

  5. Are you shooting Duelist style, or with both hands? I’ve bumped into a few people who’ve shot two handed, on the weak hand, and they’ve claimed that the strong hand acted as good support. Could that be it?

two handed both times. As close to an identical grip as I could manage
