Sign Of The Times

The flight from Dallas to Denver was the first I’ve been on in years that wasn’t full. All the middle seats were empty on both sides and there were many empty asile and exit row seats. I’d be surprised if the plane was even 2/3 full.

At the ticket counter I was offered an absurdly cheap first class upgrade, which I declined. After all the flight was only 1.5 hours. Not worth it.

And of course there were baggage fees. $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second. Funny how those fees were added “because of high fuel costs” but didn’t go away when fuel prices dropped.

$6 for a beer. Good thing I’m not much of a beer drinker. Diet Cokes are still “free”.

That is why you spend the extra money for First Class.
