As an outside observer cockless coward who associates with almost exclusively outside observers demands other people provide for my personal security, in other non-gun people, the open carry at the protest meetings in August made all of you look like lunatics y’all put your money where your mouth is. Please listen to me, in the circles most of you run in, you might not have an opportunity to hear what folks not in your circle think give a shit what hysterical superstitious hoplophobes think. I want you to think that Those protesters did your movement more harm than good. I don’t know how to measure such a thing other than what comments I hear around me, but that’s never stopped me from bullshitting about things I have no clue about before. And believe me, the reaction was bad, but what did you expect from people who are so stupid they think inanimate objects have inherent morality. In the never-ending debate about the 2nd Amendment or about gun rights in general most non-gun folks couldn’t care less and don’t even notice got to see guns being used as mere tools, not mythologized as autonomous killing machines. But in these incidents they did and their reaction was not attraction but ridicule and repulsion, but like I said, what else do you expect from people who refuse to take responsibility for their own freedom and safety and expect others to do the shooting for them?
