I used to work for the fisheries division of NOAA, all of their studies magically seem to point in the direction of needing more government money and more government oversight, and everything they seem to study is in "Danger!"

I'd been working for them maybe 6 months when I went on a fishing trip where on the first day we caught 10,000 pounds of good haddock. Because of the NOAA 1,000 pound per day quota, we had to then steam east to look for something else to kill that wasn't haddock, so we could burn up the 10 days needed to land the catch.

So for 8 days we towed up huge bag after huge bag of Yellow Tail flounder. They were only running about $0.25 per pound (haddock was over a dollar) so we were just barely covering our diesel costs (yep the monster Caterpillar turbo diesels in the engine room were running the whole time, spewing CO2 and soot into the air) but we couldn't seem to get away from the yellow tails. No idea how many we landed at the end of the 10-day trip, but it was a lot. Also there were at least two-dozen other boats out there, and they were bitching about how they couldn't find anything but yellow-tail.

So there were were, killing fish we didn't want, to cover the cost of diesel fuel we didn't want to burn to stay out to sea with fish we wanted to land all for the sake of "Conservation"....and on top of all of that NOAA that week published a paper taking about the severe danger the George's Banks Yellow Tail Flounder stocks were in.

Yeah, I knew I was working for the bad guys then. Now I work for the Pharmaceutical companies, and I do testing on Animals. I can finally work with a clean conscience...despite the world saying I have it backwards.

But then again, I'm saving lives now rather than ruining them....a quick look at the man behind the curtain shows why they say that....

"Dr" Jane Lubchenko -- she wouldn't happen to be from Russia or the USSR, would she? And considering everything else, I'd check the genetics, too. "Jane" may have started out as "John".
