Yesterday I received a letter (first class mail) from the United States Census 2010.
Dear Resident:
About one week from now, you will receive a 2010 Census form in the mail.
Your taxpayer dollars at work, sending me mail telling me they’re going to send me mail.
I received the same letter. “Dear Resident”…
Now, if they wish to send me the long form, I will answer the only question they are allowed to ask (Quantity), and enclose a copy of this photo for good measure: http://newbius.blogspot.com/2009/08/1000-words.html
Yep, got one too. But it wasn’t a total waste. I used the letter to light acouple of gasoline soaked tires on fire.
The part that kills me is the “Results from the 2010 Census will be used to help each community get its fair share of government funds for highways, schools, health facilities, and many other programs that you and your neighbors need.” Who said that I even WANT those programs, let alone NEED.
I can just tell that it was written so that a 5 year old who isn’t aware of his rights and the ramifications would do what the government wants. And when it is just assumed that I am an ignorant 5 year old, it ticks me off.
