WTF is "Countering Violent Extremism"?

From the Atlantic.

If you blinked, you might have missed it. The Obama administration has unofficially rebranded “war on terror” phrase that dominated public discourse throughout the Bush administration. The replacement phrase, carefully chosen, is “CVE” — Countering Violent Extremism.

Dammit, “war on terror” was dumb enough, now we’re gonna counter violent extremism?

How the hell do you do that?

    With bullets, honey 🙂

  2. Tea Party participants and people who open carry at rally’s are ‘violent extremists’
With the progressives, they seek to constantly redefine everything. The Hutaree were violent extremists. Rand Paul supporters are violent extremists. It’s the nature of the progressive beast.

topofthechain has it right. Who do we think that this administration would consider a threat?

Iran? Nah. Open borders? Nah. North Korea? Nah.

Tea Partiers are gaining in the polls. Got to do something, STAT! I mean, they tried to blow up Times Square – I heard that from Mayor Bloomberg.

I thought a CVE was a WWII escort carrier.

Under the doublespeak of the Obama admin, CTE means who Topofthechain indicates. They have demonstrated they can’t really affect people who hate us, to them they bow, but they can crack down on people who oppose the Administration.
