WTF, NRA?

Single issue organization, Blah Blah Blah.

Heck, I’ve pointed out myself that giving Harry Reid an A rating makes sense for the NRA. As long as they give his challengers the A rating when they deserve it too that’s fine. There are a lot of Democrats that are NRA members and the R in “NRA” doesn’t stand for Republican.

But some things go beyond a single issue and yesterday’s revelation of the NRA cutting a deal on the horrible Disclose Act stinks.

The 2nd amendment doesn’t exist in a vacuum. All the other civil rights are just as important, and screwing everyone on the 1st doesn’t help the 2nd at all.

The NRA has a reputation for trying to make itself look better at the expense of other organizations. This latest move just solidifies that opinion for a lot of people.

Bad move NRA.

This tactic worked so well when it was known as the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact or the Munich Agreement. Maybe the NRA can put this strategy to work and net some backroom sweetheart deals with Mayor Bloomberg, Josh Sugarman, and Paul Helmke.
