Prudes in space

This is just tragic.

“We are a group of professionals,” said Alan Poindexter, a NASA commander, during a visit to Tokyo, when asked about the consequences if astronauts boldly went where no others have been.

“We treat each other with respect and we have a great working relationship. Personal relationships are not … an issue,” said a serious-faced Mr Poindexter. “We don’t have them and we won’t.”

What makes me think there’s probably no sex on Earth either for Mr. Poindexter?

That attitude is why NASA will never be successful in space. The ONE thing every space geek wants to do is have sex in zero g. When it happens, and it will, the orbital rent by the hour no-tell motel will be an epic cash cow.

When I took one of the kids to Space Camp in Huntsville one of the counselors and I stayed up very late talking about various things. One of them was sex in space. It was rumored that NASA did paper on it. She was going try to find a copy and send it to me. I never received it. When I went back a couple years later with another kid she was no longer there and I didn’t have that good of a connection with any of the counselors to ask about that sort of thing.
