Fake FBI raid in Florida

If these had been real FBI agents what would have happened to the homeowner defending himself?

That’s a hell of a choice to have to make in the middle of the night. If they’re real cops, and you defend yourself you will go to jail if you live. If they’re not cops and you don’t defend yourself then you’ll probably be killed.

Of course if real cops didn’t do night raids then it wouldn’t be an issue, would it?

This kind of thing is highly inadvisable in my neighborhood. Then again, in my neighborhood, cops don’t usually do no-knock raids unless they’re very, very sure they’re at the right house.

Regarding the homeowner’s actions — I think it was pretty clear they weren’t real cops when they yelled out “Police, open up…” then start trying to pry a door open. That warning shot probably could have been aimed a bit lower.

Google “Corey Maye”. He was on death row in Mississippi until recently because armed goons with badges broke into his home in the middle of the night. Sadly, he only killed one of them. Even sadder, he was railroaded into a conviction.

In the Soviet Union, a man had applied for permission to emigrate.

One day, at 3 AM, there’s a loud knock at his door.

“Who is it?” he asked through the closed door. “The Postman,” came the reply.

“What do you want?” “Why, Comrade, I understand that you want to leave our great land and go to a land with less freedom and much more evil, could you tell me why?”

With a dry throat, the man replied “I want to see what it’s like to live in a country where they don’t deliver mail at three in the morning!”
