I think you are right. There has been a lot of interesting innovation on interface side driven by the iPad. The more I use it the more impressed I am.
I know that Daft Punk uses touch screens for some of their performances:
That’s interesting. One thing i find lacking though is the absence of pressure sensitivity for controlling the power of each individual note
