Election Predictions, Anyone?

The House is easy, GOP takes it, the only question is by how much. A few months ago a 50 seat pickup seemed a stretch, now it’s not unreasonable to say perhaps 70 plus.

Control of the Senate is even in play now. The GOP seems sure to pick up six or eight seats and perhaps even the ten needed to gain control.

I think a few House Democrats may try to franken their way back into the job, but the House is lost and they know it. The Senate is where the lawsuit action will be.

I predict recounts and lawsuits in every close Senate race this year. The Democrats are desperate to hang onto the Senate and Franken showed them how to do it: Recount until you can manufacture enough votes to win.

My Prediction:

House

Republicans: 261, Democrats: 174

Senate

(Pre-Lawsuit) Republicans: 51, Democrats: 49

(Post-lawsuit) Republicans: 48, Democrats: 52

I don’t think the House is going to be as big a blowout as that – but I do think it will be a blowout! Not sure on the Senate. Speaking of lawsuits, how about the one against the Alaska Elections Division and their relations with Murkowski?

And what is the prediction for “post-riot”?

  3. alan says:

If it comes to riots we are all screwed.

  4. Old NFO says:

Concur… Probably actually a good thing if the dems remain in control of the Senate, then Obama can’t run against republican control as the reason for his failure.

  5. Jay G. says:

He will, though. I think that’s a foregone conclusion.

    I won’t make predictions, because I hate being right…

  6. Linoge says:

And, in the end, nothing will change.

  7. alan says:

Of course nothing will change. If voting ever changed anything they wouldn’t let us vote.

  8. Bubblehead Les says:

Republitards need 10 to gain control of the Senate, probably will snatch 7 on Election Day, lose 2 to the courts. Rino’s will keep the Tea Party types Down under the watchful eye of the Senatorial Boss Hogs like Trent Lott. But if Reid gets booted, Schumer takes over for the Dems, and it’s “every dirty trick in the playbook” time. Also, don’t forget the Anointed One’s Veto Pen, all the while blaming the Republitards while the Commies keep on rigging the 2012 Ballot Boxes.

  9. Ancient Woodsman says:

It may not require a lawsuit. The (D) party can always convince a RINO to switch to (I), as was done with Mr. Jeffords from VT.
