Yes it is silly

That we require mufflers on our cars yet forbid them on our guns.

That some countries don’t just makes it even more stupid.

And don’t throw out that you can get one in some states if you pay the tax and such. The intent of the NFA was back door gun control by making the tax so high no one would be willing to pay it. In 1934 a Thompson SMG sold for less than $200.

Thanks to the miracle of inflation, $200 isn’t what it used to be and now it’s not completely insane to pay a $200 on a $15K gun. (The Hughes amendment is a whole ‘nother rant)

But it’s still crazy to pay a $200 tax on a $20 muffler.

I’m slow…mufflers quiet your car exhaust?

    Yes, they do.

Rice rockets everywhere would disagree with you Alan. 😉

Some of us can’t get mufflers for our guns, even if we wanted to pay the stupid $200.

    Alan,

That $200 in 1934 dollars is $3171.13 in 2009 dollars.

    Good point Alan!

  6. I don’t understand calling a country that requires registration of “Military-Style Semi-Automatics” and handguns to be civilized. Hell, they classify machine guns, pepper spray, and rocket launchers together for purpose of banning them all.

They get suppressors right. That’s the only damn thing they get right.

Not someone to look up to.
