I don’t feel safe getting on any form of public transportation, but I sure don’t think I’m gonna blow up. I think a lot of this comes down to people thinking they are more important than they really are.

I’m waiting for them to add that to the Metro, Amtrak already is using it…

I moved to Texas via Greyhound in 1993. After departing El Paso, the bus driver pulled over to the side of the road and US Border Patrol and other unidentified cops document checked and dog-searched all the luggage and passengers. Other than taking place inside a presumably air conditioned station, how is what’s shown on the video in any substantive way new or different from purportedly “routine” events 17 years ago alongside a Texas highway?

“Papiern, bitte” (un-warranted search) is neither new nor unique to our times in this country, officialdom is just more openly bragging about themselves these days is the only difference I can see.

It comes down to the idea that I am secure in my person and cannot be searched without probable cause and a warrant. No matter what laws are passed or who thinks this is acceptable, it violates the Constitution.

It may look innocuous, but it is far more dangerous to the country than anything the terrorists have done.

  5. Crotalus says:

ASM, this is a clear indication that the terrorists have won.
