Texas Wins Again

#1 in suppressor sales this year!

Nationwide, more than 22,000 of these noise suppressors were sold this year — 9 percent more than last year — and the most were sold in Texas for at least the third year in a row, according to statistics released by the National Shooting Sports Foundation.

In Texas, 3,621 silencers were sold in fiscal 2010, ahead of 2,053 in Florida and 1,153 in Georgia, the data show.

I bet they’d sell more if they got rid of that stupid tax and the long wait. A decent volume would drop the price down to sub $100 levels, it’s just a sheet metal muffler after all. Just imagine how nice it would be to go do some shooting and not have to wear hearing protection.

To put it in perspective: Imagine a world where cars didn’t have mufflers and everyone had to wear earplugs to drive…

Is there any state where suppressors are legal that has a larger population than TX?

    I’m too lazy to do per-capita stuff…
