TSA Checkpoints at a mall near you?

Like all bureaucracies, the TSA is pleased with their success and looking to expand.

The United States is stepping up security at “soft targets” like hotels and shopping malls, as well as trains and ports, as it counters the evolving Al-Qaeda threat, a top official said Sunday.

A year after a foiled plot to bomb a US-bound passenger plane, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano told CNN’s “State of the Union” program that other places and modes of transportation must now be scrutinized.

“We look at so-called soft targets — the hotels, shopping malls, for example — all of which we have reached out to in the past year and have done a fair amount of training for their own employees,” Napolitano said.

I’m sure the store owners at the mall will love that.

  1. So, ah…what does this mean for those of us who have carry permits and buildings that don’t “ban” carry? Do I get to by-pass security like at the Texas State Capital building, or will I have to declare, disarm, clear, re-arm, and then become the “shoot that guy first,” target?

Honestly, if I were the owners of the mall, I’d tell the TSA to pound sand.

The Sheople going to Shopping Malls will now be groped by the TSA goon squad gestapo. The SS chief, Incompetano says” it’s to protect citizens”, but in reality it’s the ground assault team for the total takeover of America.

Well here’s another reason to continue doing all my shopping online.
