57% prefer government shutdown

According to Rasmussen.

A majority of voters are fine with a partial shutdown of the federal government if that’s what it takes to get deeper cuts in federal government spending.

Unfortunately a shutdown is only political theater. About the only thing that gets shut down is the national park service. Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid and other transfer payments won’t stop. Currently those programs, “non-discretionary”, spend more money than the total revenue from taxes.

Now if those get shut down too, I’m all for it.

Otherwise shut up about about a shutdown.

  1. Bubblehead Les says:

Screw the Shut Down. I want to see if the Republitards have the Gonads to NOT raise the Debt Ceiling. It’d be nice to see Helicopter Ben and all the Anointed One’s Cronies faces when all those T-Bills start getting sold for $.20 on the Dollar on the currency Markets., and they have to pay up NOW!
