Right Point, Wrong Party

Jessie Jackson says the budget battle is the same as the Civil War.

“[T]his really is a Civil War fight,” Jackson said. “This is making the federal government dysfunctional on the 150th anniversary of the Civil War. These guys will support three wars. They’ll support tax dodgers. They’ll support the wealthiest Americans getting tax breaks. They want to cut into education and health care. This is an ideological battle.”

Jackson said those trying to shut down the federal government are doing so to make an “ideological-religious point.”

He is exactly right. Obama is trying to shut down the government to make a “ideological-religious point.”

Then there’s this gem:

“You have those who believe in states’ rights and those who believe in a more perfect union,”

In other words, there are those that believe in the rule of law and those that believe in unicorn farts.

Uh huh. Something tells me this isn’t the first time he’s used that comparison. Just how many civil wars does he think we fought?

One thing I will never forgive the South for was contaminating the 9th and 10th amendments with the slavery issue.
