FoxNews has new info on Gunrunner

FoxNews has more on Gunrunner:

In a second, equally explosive disclosure, a law enforcement source tells Fox News, that ATF undercover agents were acting as the straw buyers and purchasing guns using government-issued false identifications and then providing those guns to cartel traffickers to gain credibility in their undercover roles. In that capacity, the ATF “provided 2, 50 cal. machine guns to traffickers that are loose in Mexico and unaccounted for,” the source said.

Yet, the ATF and the Department of Justice did not shut down the operation.

I’d say this just got a whole lot worse.

And doesn’t that mean the ATF agents broke the law? Does the federal code allow purchasing for prohibited persons and misrepresentation on the 4473 by law enforcement? I doubt it.

Does this mean that Hosni Bloomberg and his Mayors Against Illegal Slingshots will soon be holding a Press Conference to demand the Arrest and Prosecution of those Evil “Straw Buyers” from the ATF?

    Hmmm. What are the odds?

Also a note to the Bradys: These can shoot down airplanes.

    Well, a couple of points.
    1. Based on this clipping alone, the anti gunners are happy for two reasons: 1. It sounds like 2 pre-ban machine gun (the devil’s .50cal at that) are now out of circulation in the USA and 2. they will be able to soon report that there has been death traceable to a US purchased and registered in the USA (allowing the drum beat of getting rid of all title II. weapons.
    2. I am officially becoming more concerned at the number of law enforcement agents that lacks the ability to either A. identify illegal orders, and/or B. unwilling to refuse such orders.
    3. I wonder who will be getting thrown under the bus. After all IF these machine guns were legally purchased (with the ATF stamp) someone in the .gov dropped the ball on flagging false identifications…OR someone with some pull was able to walk the approval through the beaurocracy to support the mission. Either way, someone is going to have to pay.
    4. To further #3. How much larger does this scandal have to get before we can call it BHO’s Iran Contra… or maybe simply the Cartel Contra?

  5. Bubblehead Les says:

IronKnight: I’m pushing for Bordergate, myself.

  6. IronKnight says:

maybe we could start calling ourselves runner’ers!
