Dept. Of Eduacation has SWAT?

Yeah, they do.

And they’re busting down people’s doors over student loans.

Can you say government out of control? Sure, I knew you could.

At least they didn’t murder anybody. That seems to be how the game is played these days.

Brother Beard: “At least they didn’t murder anybody”.

    Yet.

Only a matter of time, and the media will play them, not the police off as the bad guy.

Makes me glad I don’t have any outstanding student loans….

Good thing they didn’t have any dogs in the house.

I consider my $50/mo student loan payment as, um, insurance against unfortunate accidents. And a way to establish my credit. Not that I would EVER buy anything on credit except a house.

Gubb’mint pushed aside the private sector (except for a few high-priced boutiques) and runs the Student Loan biz now, and they are a hard taskmaster. Student Loans are the one kind of loan where defaults are not permissible, and there is no statute of limitations on the .Gov suing you for complete payback of an entire defaulted student loan, plus penalties and interest.
It’s the worst kind of loan imaginable, but at easy-sounding interest rates it looks cheap and appealing. There is a bright-side in which full-time military service counts toward public-service forgiveness, so public-service must also count – and with Student Loans in the 13.8% default-rate, those students are on the hook for some kind of Public Service – so it’s Obamacorps for all the slackers!
