Had the Honor to walk that Hallowed ground twice a few years back as part of some History Classes. The University of Akron even picked up the tab. Wrote a nice little paper on Pickett’s Stroll that was given an A by one of my Profs who’s now doing Talking Head gigs on some of the History Documentaries. It should be Required for every student to spend serious time on a Civil War Battlefield and learn what the price of Freedom costs.

Walking that battlefield sent chills up my spine.

I’ve visited twice. Once by car and once by bike. It is indeed an impressive tour. Looking down from the round tops and above the devils den, I can imagine what the scene looked like back then.

Antietam is also a great battlefield to visit.
