The Gingrich Doctrine

“…a treaty that extends the right to bear arms as a human right for every person on the planet.”

Of course every person on the planet already HAS a right to bear arms. It’s just that most governments deny that right. Newt should know better.

Also, how about we start here in the US? Some parts aren’t up to speed quite yet.

    I don’t think that’s what he meant. I was there for the speech, and if I recall correctly, before the video footage Newt talked about how the right to arms existed before the constitution and the 2nd amendment simply acknowledged a previously existing right. And that everyone has that right regardless of whether or not their dictators acknowledge it.
    I could be confusing him with one of the other 10 million speakers they had that day, but I don’t believe so.

    He says later in the video that it’s not granted by governments, that it is given by God, and that it would simply make all governments recognize that right.
