Has anyone considered the possibility that these Apple patents are defensive?
That is, “We own the rights to this technology. We’re not going to build it into our products, and you can’t build it into yours without licensing the patent from us. And by the way, we’re not licensing the patent.”
I don’t mean to sound like an Apple fanboy; but if I ran the company, that’s what I’d do.
It is possible that Apple patented this to keep other people from using it and intends to never use it themselves. But that’s not the way I’d bet.
