Actually the problem of stopping the Moros was taken care of by the .45 Colt revolvers brought back into service. Having said that, the .45ACP is a good approximation of the effect of the .45 Colt in an Automatic, and the larger caliber provides some small compensation for the Hague convention prohibition against using expanding bullets.
