I don't think they have much influence, but they should.
Seems like an organization that needs some support.

I really got that impression hammered home when I took my renewal course (a phrase which, by the by, is still hard to say in public). The guys getting paid for these renewal courses are all about you having to take them. Oh, they peddle all the pros and none of the cons, and really try to get you to believe that it's Good For You. I couldn't bring myself to ask if he'd support a no-training-requirement adjustment to the law.

I have a feeling I know where it would have ended up.

I'll never understand pro-2A folks that not only don't get behind pro-2A laws, but will deliberately advocate against them. Things were so much better when I first got my CHL and saw everything through rose-colored glasses. It was clear; it was Us vs. Them. Freedom-lovers vs. Antis. Ain't so clear now. Damn my 30s. To hell with growing up...

There is a certain segment of gun owners who have decided that they don't want to open carry and they don't want you to either.

It stinks of elitism.

"You mean anyone could just pick up a gun and carry it without going to my elite training school? Oh the horror."

I wasn't aware that crap was going on at the CHL Forum. I know now. I read several threads, and it seems very easy to get the forum moderation huffing and puffing when you paddle against the TSRA/CHL Forum current.

Seems all you have to do is imply that said organizations should support all pro-2A law instead of what we (in TX) have now, which is fight tooth and nail for every inch we're lucky enough to get, and the moderators will step in quickly to tell you how wrong you are.

Forum moderators are supposed to control the trolls, not become them...
