Filmed from the front of a Barcelona trolly in 1908. I’m not sure it’s an accurate portrayal because it has an event feel to it. There are a lot of well dressed people waving from the sidewalks. An interesting glimpse of a city 100 years ago.

I’m wondering if it is the initial run of the trolley… That might account for the waving.
I wonder if they’re trying to flag-down the street-car to catch a ride? 😉
The first section looks a lot like Ramblas, but Carre de Gracia heads in the other direction towards the mountains. Wow.
Avenida Argentina runs into it at the end. At around 4:24 you can see a curve in the road and the hills in the background – and you can Google Street-view it and find that curve with mountains – it’s about at Street-View: 106 Avinguda de la República Argentina, Barcelona, CT, España – There’s a lot more construction. But wow…
It’s very odd watching this and thinking that none of the people you see here are still alive.
Maybe I’m just an old fart, but when I was young, all these scenes were only maybe fifty or sixty years before.
Their genes are still there, walking around, sharing a family resemblance and a surnames, paying taxes and having arguments, having dinner at 9:00PM… 🙂

I love it. Awesome! 🙂
