I was on the roof (16 stories) of the Wells Fargo building in Arlington this afternoon and took a few interesting photos. (Click to embiggen)
Looking South, the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium:
South East is The Ballpark in Arlington, home of the Texas Rangers.
Dang Alan,
You beat me to a post that I was going to do about that area 🙂
I’ve been meaning to get the camera out and document the concentration of entertainment venues in Arlington.
Great shots. Not sure why you didn’t post pictures of Hurricane Harbor unless those are still being …..developed ? :>
Excellent pictures, Alan!
I like the ballpark. Is it brick, ’cause it looks like brick to me. 🙂
Yes it is brick.
Neat, but what were you doing on the roof?
You know what I like about these photos is that all of the huge monuments to entertainment they display, you know, Six Flags, the new ridiculous football stadium–they all rely on a consumer and debt system which has now collapsed. So the photos capture well the kind of infrastructure that the US will no longer be able to afford to build, or maintain. Sure, you can still have football games as long as ticket prices and salaries are far, far below current levels. But the owner-builder of all this stuff will no longer be in possession. I see these buildings eventually being owned by the city-county.
