Although I’d argue that where I came from, Memphis TN, has a dialect that’s easy (for me) to distinguish from those from areas 50 miles or more away, nonetheless, this is an awesome piece of work. (And, yes, I’m a geek.)

Blasphemy! They say Down-east Maine sounds the same as Southern Maine, which sounds the same as Boston????

DO YOU THINK I SOUND LIKE JAY????!!!!

I found fault with the Texas map too. There are several distinct dialects that don’t show up there. East Texas is split between Northeast Texas and Southeast Texas, which are both different from Central Texas. West Texas is also kinda split between Northwest and Southwest. Of course then there are all the Yankees and Californistan refugees that moved into the cities, but they don’t count.
