Via Hot Air:
In India, politicians generally speak extemporaneously or from notes or text written on paper. The common perception, explained lawmaker Sanjay Nirupam of Mumbai, is that the really good speakers don’t need to have text in front of them.
That’s the perception here too. Teleprompters are for losers who can’t think of their own words to say.
Who uses teleprompters? Politicians, news readers, actors.
People who mouth the words of others.
I do think I might need to hit the history books, and risk getting struck out trying to find a dumber man to hold that office.
Bush was hardly a rocket surgeon, but even he wasn’t THIS tone-deaf.
