I do that with Facebook. Aside from politics and snark, I try to keep it a little real. Sometimes a post is too personal, too depressing or too f’ed up. I hope you are well.
I’m fine! It was about the uselessness of a college degree today, compared to the expense of getting one.
That’s not depressing. It’s just reality.
Pell Grants and GSL have pushed education costs to the point where the student can’t hope to pay the loan off in a reasonable amount of time.
lifetime earnings are almost inversely proportional to the amount of time in school.
A person that get a two year vocational degree certainly makes more money in his lifetime than a person with a PhD in Ancient Icelandic Saga studies.
Unless you can stick it out for an engineering or a business degree, you are going to go through hell paying that loan off.
