This DC-3 is American Airlines’ “Flagship Detroit” one of their original DC-3s first operated in 1937. It’s the oldest DC-3 still flying. The DC-3 has always been one of my favorite airplanes and this one is beautifully maintained. I prowled around for a bit but couldn’t finagle a way down to see it.
The AA employees were all over it taking pictures. Even the pilot of our MD Super 80 was down there climbing into her before the first class cabin had emptied.
