Senator Baucus thinks his job is a waste of time.

Yet another reason to throw the bums out:

Senator Max Baucus (Democrat) thinks the job Montana voters sent him to do is a waste of time.

“I don’t think you want me to waste my time to read every page of the health care bill. You know why? It’s statutory language,” Baucus said. “We hire experts.”

Actually, Max, I do want you to read and understand every word in the bill.

It’s your fucking job, asshole.

Oh how I wish I was a MT resisdent. Then I would get in state tuition and would be able to vote against that drunken waste of a politican.

I think they should be able to pass a comprehensive closed “book” test on each bill they can vote on it. The test should include an essay questions on the constitutional authority upon which they justify each major feature of the bill. A bill must have majority of the total number of legislators in order to pass.

Test results should public records. Politicians obtaining lower than a 75% average should be prohibited by law from every being public servant of any type ever again.

That’s for starters. Appropriate penalties for cheaters would probably require a special exemption from the Eight Amendment.

Any senator that can’t read and understand a bill is a lousy senator.

Any bill that can’t be quickly and easily read and understood by John Q. Average will make a lousy law.

Y’know, if his job is such a waste of time why doesn’t he just quit?

    Eh, who am I kidding?….

As I said over at Tam’s:

Any Congressman that can’t or won’t read a bill should be impeached for failure to perform the duties of his office.

Any Congressman that can’t understand a bill should automatically vote against it because he can’t understand it, or be impeached for violating his oath to represent the best interests of his constituents and to defend and uphold the Constitution.

We as voters need to start pushing our Senators and Representatives on this, and voting out those who don’t comply, or it will never change.

I’ve been advocating testing legislators on the content bills they voted for, and jailing them if they fail the test and keeping them in jail untill they can pass.

Y’know, If I told my boss my job was a waste of my time he’d fire my ass on the spot………

Man, the campaign commercials they are going to make out of that little sound bite are gonna leave a mark.

Considering some of the garbage that gets posted as bills, I wouldn’t be TOO offended if a congress-critter couldn’t make head-or-tails of a bill. UNLESS they vote FOR it anyway. If they fail the test and vote for it anyway, all bets are off.
