This is an interesting slip of the tongue.
Leslie Paige, who represents watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste, says the government should withdraw the dollar bill from the market and force Americans to use the coins.
“I think Americans will definitely embrace the dollar coin if they’re just given the opportunity,” she says.
Kinda like I have the opportunity to pay my taxes or the opportunity to buy health insurance?
Doublespeak. It’s not just for breakfast anymore.
Mere semantics. Why, just this morning, I proved that opposite pairs–such as up and down, or black and white–can be considered functional equivalents. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I must carefully avoid being killed at the cross walk …
Actually, I think the Treasury should withdraw dollar bills *if* it is serious about the coins. There’s no good reason for having two equivalent denominations circulating. Having said that, I like dollar coins right up to the point where I have to carry them around.
No thanks. I will be skipping that opportunity, especially considering the “longevity” of the pot metal penny. The dollar coin probably costs a fortune to mint, too.
Gee, I wonder who’s been sitting on a Stash of Susan B. Anthony coins praying that they’ll go up in value? Must be a Big Donor, huh?
If two idiots, or two geniuses agree, they must right. In this case it took two idiots to write that pile of fail. I guess they believe that the use of the coins will magically make the buying power of the dollar come back…if we have the opportunity to use them.
Anyone consider how awkward the strip club would be if they had to wear change purses? Just puttin that out there.
It’s amazing how when a liberal isn’t careful their true colors will come out. They will always use words like ‘force’ when their guard is down.
