M&P 9mm + Apex

Smith & Wesson should just cut a deal with Apex to put their triggers and sears in every M&P.

Took me about 30 minutes to get the trigger, sear and RAM installed and a lot of that was watching the videos twice. It looks a lot more difficult than it is.

And wow, what a difference. I don’t have a way to measure the pull but I can tell it’s almost identical to my 1911, whatever that is.

I can’t wait to try it out. I’ll have to make a range trip this weekend.

    Told you.

And why gun manufacturers cannot simply make guns with triggers that do not suck is beyond me. I would gladly pay more $ for a “Blast-O-Matic 3000 w/ DoublePlusGood trigger”, it’s clear there’s a HUGE after market for triggers, heck, some people even take Dremels to their heaters to try to make them suck less.

For PDB’s sake, just put the good stuff in there to begin with.

  5. yeah, that’s why I went with the Springfield XDm I hate the M&P’s trigger. Too spongey.

My springfield 45 also got “liberated” do to speak a few months ago and I haven’t replaced it yet. Is there anything you liked better about the Springfield vs the M&P? I’ve been seeing stuff where they say the M&P is about the easiest gun there is to gunsmith. Since you’ve had a range session or two with the Apex kit what do you think….any regrets?

Love the squirrel report, keep up the good work!

I won the Minor division at my Bowling Pin match with my M&P fresh out of the box. The trigger just wasn’t that bad. Out of curiousity, what part(s) did you put in your gun? The competition-only forward set sear and trigger kit? I’m trying to determine whether I want to spend that much to correct a problem I don’t really think I have.

I put in the FSS and the RAM.

That competition only thing is just lawyer ass covering. The trigger is exactly 5 lbs and unless you pull the trigger the gun isn’t going to fire.

    It makes a huge difference.
