You know what makes a good pizza substrate? Eggo Waffles.
Yep, regular old Eggo waffles.
Toast them until they’re nice and golden brown. You want them a little crispy so they’ll withstand the sauce.
Slather on the sauce. Here’s where it gets cool because the sauce fills in the holes in the waffle and you always have enough sauce in every bite.
Top with whatever you want. I used sausage and cheese.
Bake at 450 for 5 minutes or so, until the cheese melts.
Start to finish in less than 15 minutes.
I am a fool to have ever doubted this – looks delicious!
It is! Make more than you think you’ll eat. You’ll kick yourself for not making enough up front.
I’m sure there has to be something basically wrong there, but damned if I can think of what it is.
And I do have Eggo’s in the fridge….
Oooooooooooo . . . .
That looks more fun that bite-sized pizzas on English Muffins…
I like making mini-pizzas with flour tortillas.
Not a bad idea at all 🙂
Damn Allen,
You are my HERO dude!!!!! I want to be like you when I grow up.
Looks good but is missing Meat Candy (Bacon).
gotta do something with the eggo’s, they aren’t good waffles.
