I have to visit New Orleans for business next week. I’m seriously considering driving instead of flying.
If I fly, I have to drive to the Airport, that’s an hour.
Get there two hours ahead, then the flight is about an hour, assuming it’s on time…
Then an hour to futz with baggage claim and a rental car, then however long it takes me to get to the hotel.
New Orleans is only an eight hour drive from my house.
OK, it’s a couple of hours longer than flying, but the cost is about the same, and I don’t have to worry about checking my pistol through the airline. And I can take my Diet Cokes with me.
No TSA.
And I can stop for lunch along the way. And the seat in my truck is more comfortable even after eight hours.
I guess I’m driving.
