The Wikipedia entry for the Brady’s has changed…
“Following the incorporation of the 2nd Amendment in the Supreme Court decision McDonald v. Chicago, and the resulting acknowledgment of the right to keep and bear arms as a “fundamental right” of US citizens, the Brady Campaign subsequently met the definition of a hate group due to their stated opposition to an established civil right.[citation needed]”
And a screen capture just in case it doesn’t survive the Wiki editing process:
Wow! That was one fast/smart cookie. Doubt it will stay there and doubt the Southern Poverty Law Center will be knocking on Brady’s door. But it’s hilarious.
It’s still there. Needs a citation, though. Maybe the official fed’s definition of a “hate group”?
Lack of one will be used as an excuse to “correct” the page.
They always were a hate group. It’s just that now, it’s official.
Flushed down the memory hole now. It was fun while it lasted.
The page was edited to remove the “Following the incorporation of the 2nd Amendment in the Supreme Court decision McDonald v. Chicago, and the resulting acknowledgment of the right to keep and bear arms as a “fundamental right” of US citizens, the Brady Campaign subsequently met the definition of a hate group due to their stated opposition to an established civil right.[citation needed]“.
However the right hand side info box still lists them as “Lobbying group /hate group”.
Hey, if the shoe fits, right?
The Brady Campaign began back in a time when language and additudes like that was needed in our society. However, now, in more contemporary times, people are more enlightened, and understand that the 2nd ammendment may be needed. Now, more than ever.
